Beat the summer heat at one of our Olympic-sized swimming pools. Sunbathe on a lakeside sandy beach, or explore nearby cool streams…the choice is yours.
Swimming Pools
Our public swimming pools are open from Memorial Day through Labor Day and are a perfect retreat from the heat. Most pools have diving boards, kiddie pools, and lifeguards on duty during swimming hours. Amenities include sunbathing space with lounge chairs, bathhouses and snack areas. All park public pools are closed on Monday and Tuesday, except holiday weeks. There is a small admission fee for day guests while most cabin and camping guests pay half price. Hours of operation vary, so please call individual parks for more specific information. Some pools can be rented for private pool parties, but all our pools provide hours entertainment without breaking the budget.
Swim Beaches
Sandy swim beaches are popular destinations for family fun. Play in the sand, wade in the water or float in a tube. Most swim areas are free and offer bathhouses and scenic lake views; however no lifeguards are on duty..
Streams and Creeks
Cool creek water, perfect for wading and splashing can be found at many of our parks, including Mousetail Landing and Frozen Head.

HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMING in Tennessee
High school swimming in Tennessee is governed by TISCA- Tennessee Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association. TISCA serves the state of Tennessee by promoting high school swimming and diving and sponsoring the Tennessee State Championship Meet each February. The State Championship meet alternates location between Nashville (Tracy Caulkins Natatorium) and Knoxville (Allen Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center).
Check out TISCA’s web site for more information about the State Championships, qualifying times, dual meets, eligibility, TISCA by-laws, meet schedules and even recruiting invitations from college and university swim and dive coaches.
